Welcome to fourth grade! This year students will be busy studying many new and exciting things. Listed below are some of the main topics we will be studying this year.
RELIGION - Fourth grade will focus on Commandments, Beatitudes, Rosary, and many Advent and Lenten practices.
LANGUAGE ARTS - We will be working on comprehension strategies, vocabulary and elements of fiction. The Accelerated Reader program will continue. Students will need 12 points with at least a 70% average. Spelling will be the Rebecca Sutton program and Mrs. Dietz will teach English.
MATH - We will use multiplication and division fact to solve larger math problems. We'll also tackle some algebra and geometry.
SOCIAL STUDIES - Fourth grade studies the regions of the United States with a focus on Kentucky.
SCIENCE - This year we will start studying life science with a chapter about cells. Earth sciences and physical sciences will also be explored. We will also be participating in a study unit form Sanitation District #1. This is an environmental unit.
